ICC Security Patroller

We are looking for professional and courteous customer facing people to help create unforgettable experiences every day, making every moment count for each and every visitor at the ICC, one of Europe's premier conference and meeting venues. A big part of the role is the continual focus on customer service and delivering customer excellence, which is at the heart of what all our ‘front of house’ teams do. You need to have a valid Door Supervisor licence.

Your main responsibilities will be –

* To maintain the security of the ICC. Patrols of internal and external areas, including bag searches
* Cover the ICC and occasionally the VOX Conference Centre on a flexible roster over 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
* Customer service ambassador for The ICC and the event organiser providing advice, information and assistance to ‘000s of visitors/delegates
* Support customers to the neighboring Symphony Hall and Barclaycard Arena during busy show times.

* You will excel at customer communications and go out of your way to assist in any way you can
* Managing authorised access to controlled areas
* Managing parking and traffic areas for ICC & Symphony Hall

* Provide directions, venue and local area information to ICC and Symphony Hall visitors, visitors to Barclaycard Arena and wider Birmingham area

* Managing crowd safety and queue management during busy events
* Monitoring visitors for signs of distress, conflict or those in need of medical &/or mobility assistance
* Responsible for the health, safety and comfort of visitors during their stay
* Monitoring and maintaining the pedestrian flow at key areas
* Be aware of and react to emergency situations as detailed in the Incident and Emergency Plans

To succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and attributes

* Exceptional customer service skills, listening to our customers needs and going out of your way to help
* An enthusiastic, can-do attitude
* A professional demeanor with sound judgment and integrity
* Excellent communication skills – both written and spoken
* Significant experience in a public facing, customer service role with the ability to deal with challenging situations
* The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
* Excellent time-keeping, reliable and flexible
* Experience of working within the security industry/environment is an advantage
* Door Supervisor Licence is essential
