The function of the Deputy Operations Manager is to work with the ISS Operations Manager and the KPMG security management team to ensure that all aspects of the contract are maintained to the highest level. In addition there is a requirement to interface with senior members of KPMG security management and other support agencies in support of KPMG projects and other activities, with an emphasis on excellent quality and support through effective communication and customer care
You will provide operational management support to ISSFS and KPMG, working closely with the Operations Manager and KPMG security department to deliver an exceptional service to all stakeholders and clients. Managing all areas of security operations across the KPMG estate - to include but not be limited to all aspects of the KPMG crisis management planning, exercising and controls, security led investigations, traveller security, events planning/security and a UK-wide responses as instructed:
You will be expected to liaise closely with all management levels both within ISS Security and KPMG, supporting the day to day running of the contract and all other security related activities driven by the KPMG security department.
Assist the ISS Operations Manager with the management of all matters concerning the provision of physical security in accordance with the client’s security policies, procedures and specification
Maintain a close working relationship with the KPMG Head of Security & Safety and Security Manager
Assist the ISS Operations Manager with the provision the following physical security deliverables:-
Confidential waste shredding
All aspects of building security across the KPMG estate
Assist the ISS Operations Manager in the proactive and forward planning of the service in collaboration with KPMG security management
Provide guidance and leadership to ISS Security staff assigned to the KPMG contract
Provide KPMG security management with a 1st point of contact and support on security related projects and special events.
Conduct regular reviews of security Team practices to ensure that the Firm’s policies and requirements are applied consistently across all sites
Interact with the KPMG crisis and security management teams to develop and implement best practice.
React to emergencies and any other urgent requirements at short notice and UK-wide.
Initiate action to prevent service failures.
Implement solutions where service failures are identified.
Ensure that the client is kept informed of relevant advancements/ changes in technology, processes and legislation within the industry.
Conduct physical security audits and risk assessments as directed by the ISS Operations Manager or KPMG security management.
Demonstrate and maintain continuous professional development knowledge of Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE), Human Rights Act and UK Data Protection Act legislation.
Take lead on ensuring that regional police, NaCTSO, CTU & local authority contacts are kept up to date and relevant.
Conduct initial investigations into losses, thefts, damage or other security related incidents across the KPMG Estate and compile comprehensive reports of a PACE standard.
Liaise with local and national law enforcement agencies as necessary
Compile and assess security risks, make recommendations on areas of concern and prioritisation of physical security hazards to the client
Liaise with stakeholders to ensure that targets are met.
Attend meetings as directed by the ISS Operations Manager and client
Collect and submit security related MI to the KPMG security management team in the agreed format on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Resource planning for special events and ad-hoc activities
Mentor local ISS supervisors and managers to ensure that they are fully able to carry out their duties efficiently and effectively.
Provide expertise and support to satellite offices in respect of security equipment and processes.
Support ISS Regional Operations Managers to ensure that they are fully equipped to in turn support the KPMG account.
Promote a secure and safe working environment at each site through continuous improvement.
Be proactive in seeking security improvements through intelligent manning plans, innovation and the use of technology.
Irregular hours, weekend, and night working across the UK may be required as the need arises,
Communicate with all security manned offices as required
Ensure that all daily/weekly and monthly security checks are carried out and the relevant documentation submitted.
Carry out initial security related investigations at any of the KPMG UK offices and prepare reports in a timely manner as required.
Other day-to-day responsibilities as dictated by circumstances, the needs of the business and the client.
