Interr are currently recruiting for SIA licenced Security Officers to work within our Elite Response Team supporting our Retail Client portfolio, across various locations in London.
At Interr we supply professional Security Services to more than 70 clients covering 250+ sites throughout the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia, we are currently seeking new colleagues to help develop and represent our growing brand.
Successful candidates will join our dedicated Elite Response Team and work in partnership with our retail clients, maintaining close relations with our Client Management and Head Office.
This is a fulltime position, with guaranteed hours, where you will be required to work a flexible shift pattern to cover sickness, cancellation and holidays.
You will work in a security control room at a client site. Your main aim will be to ensure that all electronic systems, intruder alarms, access control systems, processes and procedures meet service levels and the security needs of the business.
You will also:
Liaise with the client, police and other agencies as necessary
Co-ordinate and prioritise incidents from the Control Room
Monitor the electronic security systems on site
Produce reports on false alarms and response times.
To succeed in this role you will need:
Knowledge of control room operations
Experience within the security industry
Excellent knowledge of CCTV, intruder alarms and access control systems
Verbal and written communication skills to at least National Level 2 - e.
You will be responsible for protecting the security and safety of the identified buildings, employees and customers. You will ensure that assigned tasks are completed in a professional and timely manner and meet relevant legislation whilst maintaining outstanding customer service.
This is a casual role with the allocation of work being flexible to meet yours and the business’ requirements.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Acting as a first line support to employees and visitors to site, providing a professional and friendly service.
The main responsibilities of this role are to:
Oversee all event related security operations for the NEC Birmingham.
Forecast and budget for each event, providing actual costs
Have full P & L accountability and ensure that operations are managed within budget and that maximum revenue and gross margins are achieved
Develop plans for profitable growth, defining key goals and time lines
Communicate clearly and positively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
Ensure all staff are trained and legally compliant to work at the facility
Liaise with Supervisors to ensure staff motivation and productivity, increasing staff retention
Ensure the safety of all stakeholders
Deal with discipline and grievance issues
Participate in relevant events to network and raise company profile
Recruit, develop and manage the performance of teams to ensure expectations are met
Deal with customer complaints and feedback
Take overall control and ensure all financial targets are met
Ensure all invoices and bad debts are dealt with and cleared
Drive standards for performance utilising and developing site specific KPI’s
Ensure training and legal compliance records are up to date for all staff
Ensure innovation and continual performance throughout the life of OCS contracts
A highly organised, self-motivated, results orientated individual with effective inter–personal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels, you will be able prioritise workloads and delegate effectively and have a proven record of managing, motivating, developing and retaining a dispersed workforce.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role are to:
Ensure patrols are carried out efficiently and effectively Issue penalty charge notices to any vehicle parked against restriction and record verbal warnings issued to motorists Report any defects with signs or lines Ensure parking equipment is working correctly and report defects promptly Ensure enquiries from members of the public are dealt with promptly and politely Act as ambassadors for the Council, undertaking any others tasks as directed To be successful in the role you will need:
Previous customer service experience in a demanding environment such as a hospitality or call centre environment (desirable)
Previous experience within civil enforcement/ parking or a security environment (desirable)
The ability to follow instructions and to work within a closely managed operation
The ability to remain calm during conflict and tense situations, and a polite, credible and confident approach when dealing with members of the public
A willingness to work outside in all weathers and the ability to walk 15 miles per shift
A flexible approach to working hours
This position is for 40 hours a week on a shift basis working 5 days out of 7 from Monday to Sunday. The earliest start time is 8am and the latest finish is 10.30pm. The pay rate is £10.

Support a safe working environment for staff, residents and visitors by adhering to Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures
Deal with visitors and telephone calls, and monitor the work of visiting contractors
Respond appropriately to abusive or aggressive behaviour.

Experience of working with a diverse range of people who have experienced a range of social or personal difficulties
SIA Security Guarding Licence
Good general education to at least Level 2 - i.e. 5 GCSEs or equivalent
Good IT and administration skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualification in First Aid – preferred
Knowledge of risk management relating to offenders - preferred
To be compliant with pre-employment security and vetting checks, including DBS and five years checkable history
To be able to provide/pass an enhanced criminal record/DBS check.
About the Role
As a key member of our events support team, you will be extremely customer focused and take responsibility for a range of security and stewarding activities including:
Checking tickets and passes
Resolving customer queries and complaints
Implementing emergency procedures
Carrying out bag searches
Assisting with crime prevention and detection
Ensuring Health & Safety policies are adhered to
The pay rate is £8.60 per hour. You will be able to park at the NEC for free.
You will be provided with polo shirts, coats and high-visability jackets.
